Interesting topic for my birthday! :)

Have you ever heard someone say that they were drunk but something happened and it sobered them right up? Sometimes, it isn't that you're drunk or under the influence of a mind-altering substance. Maybe you're floating along in a new relationship, head in the clouds, feet somewhere about a foot off the ground. You're in that love-drunk stage that all new relationships go through. Then something happens that slaps you across the face and gives you a reality check. Sobering, isn't it?

I don't drink much anymore. A glass of wine here and there. I used to drink, but I think being married to an alcoholic sort of ruined it for me. I always felt like I couldn't have anything to drink, because he wasn't a fun drunk... he was a paranoid - want to fight kind of drunk that I felt like I had to babysit all the time... so I just stayed sober.
